The role requires knowledge of IoT protocols, edge and gateway patterns, Python-based processing, time-series analytics and scalable cloud integration. The engineer should be able to bridge operational technology and modern cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

  • Design device-to-edge-to-cloud telemetry flows for industrial and connected-product use cases.
  • Integrate devices, gateways, PLC/SCADA systems and cloud IoT services using suitable protocols.
  • Develop Python services for telemetry ingestion, validation, transformation and enrichment.
  • Build analytics pipelines for time-series monitoring, anomaly detection and predictive-maintenance use cases.
  • Implement device identity, certificate management, secure connectivity and message-routing patterns.
  • Handle duplicate, delayed, missing and out-of-order telemetry records.
  • Design storage, querying, dashboards, alerting and operational observability for sensor data.
  • Support edge buffering and resilient operation during intermittent connectivity.
  • Collaborate with cloud, data and ML teams on scalable analytics and model integration.
  • Document protocol mappings, device onboarding, architecture and operational procedures.
